Now that the container is in place we need to start building a temporary shelter to give a measure of protection for us and the boat. I ordered 16 lengths of 75mm galv tube, and some 30mm for the horizontal braces. The design is based upon shelters used by a number of Easy Cat builders and will be 8m x 13m when complete. I was unable to hire a pipe bender, so I purchased one specifically for the job, which I will sell when finished. Today we started bending the tube. Each length is bent with three 30 degree bends, then joined together to form 8 frames. A 12.8m x 10m tarp was ordered from Melbourne, of a type normal used by famers to protect hay bails.
